We pay close attention to the planning and construction process to ensure that your conservatory will be built swiftly, professionally and with the minimum of inconvenience to you.

The OPUS approach to supplying handmade, bespoke conservatories is firmly based on these values.

As a result OPUS represents the very best choice when you want to enhance your property and your quality of life with the addition of a conservatory.

Not all buildings are the same and conservatories have to be designed sympathetically, be it for a country cottage, Grade II listed building or a modern house.

OPUS conservatories are designed to complement each individual property and its surroundings. Care is taken to ensure design features, materials and finishes all blend with the existing building.

OPUS is experienced in obtaining planning permission for Grade II listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas.

From the first visit by an OPUS consultant, you will be involved in the design of your conservatory. Following a site survey and customer consultation you will be provided with a detailed architectural pre-sale drawing and quotation. You can then discuss the proposed design with OPUS and make any changes necessary to ensure the design fully matches your requirements. OPUS normally makes no charge for work carried out prior to receipt of your order.

OPUS will undertake all additional work associated with your conservatory, including small house extensions, underfloor heating and floor finishing.

If you decide to proceed and place an order with OPUS, we will liaise with your local authority and if necessary make a planning application for the proposed work. Building control approval will be obtained should this be required.

The professional design process, attention to detail and your complete involvement are just a few of the reasons why OPUS conservatories stand apart from the others.

OPUS conservatories are fabricated using premium grade durable hardwood. All frames have mortise and tenon joints and are supplied with any necessary rafter tie bars to ensure structural integrity. The conservatories are delivered to site finished with a microporous weather resistant paint system. An additional topcoat is applied on site to ensure a pristine finish.

All conservatories are double glazed with argon filled 24mm sealed units, using Pilkington K low E safety glass to minimise heat loss. Pilkington Activ self cleaning and low UV comfort glass is also available if required.

Drainage of storm water from roofs is normally to 100mm half round gutters and down pipes. Gutters are housed in profiled hardwood casings.

Aluminium roof cappings with concealed screw fixings are provided with a durable finish, coloured to co-ordinate with the joinery.

Adequate ventilation of a conservatory is most important and we advise our clients of the provisions that should be made. We normally provide opening window casements and a thermostatically controlled fan-assisted ridge ventilation system. Opening roof lights can be provided in place of or to supplement the ridge ventilation.

All components and materials used in our conservatories comply with the relevant British Standards and the designs comply with current Building Regulations.

We recommend and are proud to invite prospective customers to visit our joinery and completed installations prior to placing an order.
